Galvanised Steel Tanks
Fire and Rescue Service Support Tanks (FRST)
These tank systems provide additional water storage capacity available as quick release hydrant outlet directly from the tank or locally positioned hydrants on the site. The capacity required is defined by Fire Officers Site Risk Assessment and relates to the duration and flow rate required to support hydrant servicing fire engine or hose reels on site. Water from the tank is drawn by suction pumps either on board the appliance (to replenish inbuilt tank on the tender) or on site. The tank incorporates a vortex inhibitor system with maximum flow on standard 4” 110 mm hydrant outlets of 50.0 LPS - Litres / Sec (Higher Flow Rates by special design)
Site Certification and Licensing
The FRST tank provision assists with overall specification within the FRS Risk Assessment and allows Fire Certification by FO and Operational Licenses for the site by Local Authority and Environment Agency Site
