Back Up Generator Storage Solutions
We have become dependent on a continuous supply of power to aid our day to day lives. When our mains power supply is removed, we must find alternative methods to power our homes, businesses, essential machines, databases, and life-safety equipment. This can be done by backup generator's which provide businesses and organisations the knowledge that if mains power supply is suddenly unavailable, they have a backup supply, to minimise any disruption.
With ever increasing prices for energy, backup energy supply will help with any eventuality where power is lost to a premises. Having extra storage of diesel can help run generators longer when a power source is depleted.
Here at Tanks.ie, we offer a wide range of power backup storage solutions.

Plastic Bunded Diesel Tanks
Bunded diesel tanks have 2 layers or a tank within a tank. The inner tank holds the liquid, and the outer tank (bund) is a secondary containment tank, which protects the environment in the event of any leaks.
Our range of plastic oil tanks can also be used for gravity fed diesel storage. Plastic diesel tanks have a shorter holding time for diesel than steel, however they are very cost effective and with regular maintenance to remove contaminants from the tank and ensure it kept in good condition, you can store diesel in a plastic tank for between 6 and 12 months.
These tanks have a base outlet but would not have a top return connection which some generators require.
A water & particulate filter would always be recommended to include in the system.

Steel Diesel Holding tanks
Steel tanks are a more expensive option for diesel storage, however they last longer than a plastic tank, as the diesel starts to break down the plastic after a prolonged period. In addition to this being steel they are more resilient to theft.
Steel tanks can also be modified for your specific needs, for example if using to go with a generator, not all generators use the same connection size, so they can be modified to have the correct fitting required.
As Steel tanks tend to be fabricated and not rely on moulds, they can accommodate a much bigger capacity than plastic tanks.
If the generator has a return fuel requirement then steel are a great choice as these can be incorporated in the tank specification & often top return and base feed.
Here at Tanks.ie, we offer static or transportable diesel tanks, whether the tank is needed at a hospital or on a work site, we have a tank to suit your needs.
