Due to the reclassification of diesel, which is now classed as a flammable liquid under the CLP Regulations, the Hytek tank alarms have been ATEX certified for use with diesel.

- Steel Tank option comes with High level alarm kit, 1.5" F BSPP cap
- Unlike most compact alarms on the market today, it’s a constant monitoring alarm & not a "push to test" type. - Suitable with heating oil, diesel & biodiesel blends up to B100, oils & water.
- Battery operated (Battery supplied, type PP3 x1).
- Weatherproof to IP55.
- Compact design for use in confined spaces, 90mm square.
- High power alarm sounder, 97dB at 1m.
- Flashing light on top of unit.
- The mute button stops the sounder, the light still flashes.
- Float switch supplied with 5m cable.
- 2 year battery life, if tested weekly with no alarms.

Irish regulations
Installation & requirements
OFTEC regulation
All domestic oil tank installations in Ireland must be carried out by an OFTEC-registered technician. The tank must conform to IS:293 and be sited in accordance with IS:820.
Site requirements
The tank must stand on a level, load-bearing concrete base minimum 100 mm thick, extending 300 mm beyond the tank footprint on all sides. Ground must be clear of vegetation.
Bunding requirements
Bunded tanks are required within 10 m of a watercourse or drain. Secondary containment must hold 110% of the inner tank capacity. Check local planning conditions before installation.
